Andrew Abi

>When did you start dancing to funk?

> I don't remember dancing to anything else really. Probably 89' 90, I was about 14, I loved JB and had just started clubing with my Brother. It wasn't just funk there was alot of rare grooves and also Talking Loud, so there was Jazz and latin as well. The first time I saw JB dance I was amazed, then I saw the Nicholas Brothers in stormy weather and that was it.

>How would you describe you dance style, and do you have any favourate
moves?

> Completely Spontaneous, no rehearsed moves, It's about the moment. I only dance well when I'm inspired.

The style is a fusion of Jazz and Funk and Alcohol, fast footwork with a little or no Groundwork sometimes slightly off-beat with a few drunken slips, slides and crashes - can be abstract. I don't spin well especially when drunk so I steer clear of that.

>What are your favourate Deepfunk tracks at the moment?

> I know them by sound.

>What are you favourate all time Deepfunk tracks?

> Again I know them mostly by sound, But definately the Funk stuff and The Jazz keb used to play!

>What would you like to see/hear more of at Deepfunk nights, and what would
you like to see less of?

> More hard stuff, More Jazz, More Funk, Latin? and less soft stuff. I need to dance.

>Where can you see the scene going in the next few years?

> Nowhere if care isn't taken.

>Do you have anything else to add?

> I think it's lost it's way a bit, too much of a spectacle and not enough participation.
